Pushkar Camel Fair

 Pushkar Camel Fair

Pushkar is one of the oldest metropolises in India. Located to the northwest of Ajmer, the tranquil megacity of Pushkar is a favoured destination for thousands of excursionists and addicts swarming to Rajasthan. Positioned at a height of 510 metres, Pushkar is girdled by hillocks on three sides. The‘Nag Pahar’, literally meaning Snake Mountain forms a natural border between Ajmer and Pushkar. Known as‘the rose theater of Rajasthan’, the substance of the notorious Pushkar rose is exported each over the world. Along with an intriguing mythological history, a heritage of dateless architectural heritage makes Pushkar a fascinating megacity.

According to legends, Lord Brahma, believed to be the creator of the Universe dropped a lotus to the ground leading to the immediate creation of a lake. He also decided to name the place after the flower, and therefore the name, Pushkar. The megacity of Pushkar is home to the only tabernacle devoted to Lord Brahma in the whole world. Hindus consider a trip to Pushkar to be the ultimate passage that must be accepted to attain deliverance.

Do n’t just stick to Ajmer. You can explore this fascinating and unique fair in Pushkar during your Ajmer trip in November. Though it began as an average fair where camel and beast were traded, it has now converted into a artistic lagniappe with colors and conditioning that will blow your mindWitness the Longest Moustache Competition, ride a camel, enjoy the succulent cookerywatch folk performances, and much further. There’s no end to the fun you can have during this five- day long event that's held every time in October-November and attracts trippers from around the world.
